Erin Baker comes to JSS Barristers as an associate, having recently completed her articles in Victoria, British Columbia. While articling she advocated in the areas of personal injury and medical malpractice litigation, and also gained experience in family law, wills and estates and conveyancing. She participated in several Continuing Legal Education Seminars and was a member of the Young Lawyers of Victoria. She was called to the Bar in British Columbia in May 2008 and called to the Bar in Alberta in October 2008.

In 2007, Erin obtained her Bachelor of Laws from the University of Alberta. While in law school, Erin volunteered with Student Legal Services gaining experience in both the Criminal law and Civil law divisions. She assisted clients in various types of matters, including landlord and tenant disputes, divorces and DUIs. In addition, she participated in Law Show for two years, once as a dancer and the other as an actor, to raise money for charity. Erin also served on the 2007 Graduation Committee, assisting in the organization of fundraisers and the graduation ceremony itself.

Erin obtained her Bachelor of Arts degree with Distinction from the University of Victoria in 2004. She majored in Anthropology and minored in Sociology. While an undergraduate student, Erin volunteered with the Planned Parenthood Clinic of Victoria. During her undergraduate degree she also travelled to Quebec during the summer months to take an intensive French course in Trois Pistoles.

Erin enjoys traveling, snowboarding, cooking, hiking, running and yoga, as well as spending time with friends and family.
