Johanna joined JSS Barristers as an articling student in 2012 and had previously worked as a summer student with the firm. Johanna obtained her J.D. from the Faculty of Law, University of Calgary. While in law school, she volunteered with Student Legal Assistance and was awarded 2nd place in the 2010 Trial Competition. Johanna also participated in the mooting program as researcher for the 2011 Philip C. Jessup International moot team.
In 2005, Johanna graduated from the University of Guelph with a Bachelor of Commerce degree (honours) in Marketing Management. Johanna's interest in law began in earnest through her work as a compliance analyst with a credit reporting agency, where she dealt with matters pertaining to privacy and consumer reporting legislation in Canada.
In her spare time, Johanna volunteers with Calgary Legal Guidance and with the crisis and support phone line of Calgary Communities Against Sexual Abuse. She also enjoys yoga, hiking and spending time with her two dogs.
