Simon joined JSS Barristers as an articling student in 2012. He was a summer student at the firm in 2011.
Simon graduated from the University of Calgary Law School in 2012. During his time at law school, Simon won the Borden Ladner Gervais LLP Scholarship, the L.H. Fenerty, Q.C. Law Prize and the Sean Smith Memorial Bursary in Criminal Law. He also volunteered as a member of the trial division with Student Legal Assistance and ran trials before the Provincial Court of Alberta in both criminal and civil matters. Simon played for the Law School Rugby and Hockey teams.
Prior to law school, Simon obtained a bachelor in Administrative and Commercial Studies from the University of Western Ontario, after which he worked as a broadcast associate for the Business News Network in Toronto.
Simon enjoys travelling, working and volunteering abroad. Simon has taught English in Thailand, built houses in Costa Rica, taken Spanish courses in Bolivia, and done independent volunteer work in Guatemala. He also enjoys golfing, snowboarding, rugby, hockey, softball, squash, and plays guitar in the JSS Barristers band: the Advo-Cats.
