Finalist for Diversity Initiative of the Year
JSS Barristers is honoured to be named as a finalist for the Canadian Law Awards 2020 Bereskin & Parr Award Diversity Initiative of the Year.
2019 was a great year for diversity at JSS Barristers, as our diversity and inclusion committee implemented an updated “Enhancing Diversity and Inclusion in Recruitment and Advancement Policy.” The updated policy is the overarching policy that guides the firm’s strategy for maintaining and enhancing a diverse and inclusive workplace, including the “Associate and Counsel Flexible Work Arrangement Policy” that has empowered some our lawyers to work remotely, opening up their schedule to spend more time at home with their families.
The committee was instrumental in the firm’s enrollment as one of the few law firms in the Law Society of Alberta’s Indigenous Law Students for Summer Employment Program.
